BMW Magazine Shoot

Posted in 1 by Fred Rollison on August 17, 2009

I did a recent shoot for BMW Magazine at the BMW Performance Center in Greer, SC. The subject was Jim Millard who is a driving instructor at the center. We shot an early morning portrait under very cloudy skies and then went to the track. On the track I shot this photo with an “older” camera triggered by a remote. Jim was demonstrating drifting which is going through a curve without slowing and turning the tires and pretty much sliding through the curve. He’s an excellent driver as he did this maneuver flawlessly over and over until we got the photos needed.

I just came across your website for the first time today and I love the BMW work! Looks like it would have been an adventure; although I think Jim was demonstrating “drifting”. I think drafting involves a pencil and drifting involves screeching tires (and the one I’d prefer anyway). I really enjoyed your portfolio/ website, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comments Jon and the difference between drifting and drafting. I appreciate it!
